fortnite weapons Is Far Better Than Overwatch At Telling An Evolving Story

Cracks in the skies. Rifts on the ground. Fake burger-restaurant mascots in actual deserts. All eyes are on Fortnite's map at the moment, and with good reason: It is the main character of a narrative that could go just about anywhere.

Fortnite's battle royale mode hardly has a story in the conventional sense. Little is known about the wider context of this game's candy-colored murder purgatory; gamers fall in, drop each other, fall out. But over the course of the match's past few seasons, developer Epic has shown the faintest outline of a plot, despite the absence of a core cast of personalities or readily identifiable arcs, buy fortnite traps has made people care. It has accomplished this by tying nearly every major beat into the map, which means each story event comes with earth-shattering consequences.

I've been thinking a lot lately about this strategy to multiplayer storytelling in contrast to that of Overwatch, a match I have been hooked on since its launch in 2016. Overwatch grafts a much more traditional narrative on an endless series of conflicts that are not so royale. The sport surrounds its 6v6 payload push-offs with vibrant characters, decades-spanning lore, limited-time PVE occasions, in-game puzzles, CG movies, comics, and much more. It is a lot. Players clearly take care of Overwatch's planet, too, as enough fan fiction and fan art to fill hundreds of ancient Grecian libraries will attest.
